Welcome to the Fox Lane and District Residents’ Association Website

Following a substantial period of time where we have not been able to operate the website, we have now been able to bring it back to life! The website is designed to be accessible and easy to find your way around. At the moment you will see that we are still in the process of amending and re-populating various parts of the site, hopefully this process should be completed within the near future.

The Fox Lane and District Residents’ Association (FLDRA) was formed in 1978 and is the sole voluntary body representing the interests of residents living within the area bounded by Bourne Hill, The Bourne, High Street, Cannon Hill, Aldermans Hill and Green Lanes. A total of around 3500 households, of which well over 500 are currently members.

The Association is affiliated to the Federation of Enfield Residents’ and Allied Associations (FERAA) and we also support the efforts of the Neighbourhood Watch, an organisation with which we maintain close links.

The aims of the Association are to safeguard the environment in which we live, to keep an eye on proposed changes and building schemes that may affect the quality of life of residents and generally to try and avert nuisances whether caused by people, noise or traffic. We aim to encourage a spirit of neighbourliness.

We hold bi-monthly General meetings in Burford Hall, Fox Lane at which topics of local interest are discussed, particularly those where there is current interest and information available, and we invite along guest speakers for their input and expertise and for the opportunity to question them as appropriate. These may be Enfield Council Officers, the Police, local Councillors or any others where we feel that their input is necessary at the time. We also issue a regular Notice to all members. Members with e-mail access also receive latest planning details affecting the area and any urgent updates and information we deem necessary.

In June of each year we hold a Summer Party and in December we have a popular and well-attended Christmas Party.

Our membership is only £3.00 per year, due in January, for each household (discounted to £2.50 if paid before 31st March of the relevant year or for payment by Standing Order).

If you would like to join, and you would be most welcome, please see the details on the ‘Membership’ page.

If you have any comments or concerns about issues you would like us to follow up, or comments about the website, or indeed items you would like to contribute, please contact me on 020 8882 3434 or andybarker47@virginmedia.com.
